In this one-hour workshop, certified mindfulness meditation instructor Jeanne Kocher explains the benefits of meditation and gives simple instructions on how to practice it. If you’ve never meditated before, you will feel the calming effect immediately. As a regular practice, researchers have proven that meditation creates permanent changes on the brain, which include:
- Increased problem solving skills
- Improved memory
- Decreased stress and anxiety
- Increased ability to respond with calm
This workshop begins a series of twice-monthly classes, every other Tuesday evening from 6:30 – 7:30, that will be held the first and third Tuesday evenings of each month. Each session begins with a 15-minute reflection, followed by group meditation, and ends with group discussion. The cost to attend these regular sessions is $15.
